A Message from the President -  Thomasina Michalik

TWFG President - Thomasina MichalikIn these very challenging times, it seems we are all working harder and longer, maybe we need to focus on working smarter.

With the focus on networking to meet as many people as possible then doing the necessary follow up little attention is given to the importance of building relationships!

Building relationships which helps us grow, has taken a back seat to many of the new “speed networking groups. While networking is a necessary tool, it is important to strike a balance with building our contacts through participation.

Our members, especially those that participate in a committee develop close relationships with everyone in the group. You become known for your talents, known as being reliable, capable, loyal, helpful - this translates to more than just helping on a committee or project – it becomes building on your relationships.

This is what TWFG is all about…. providing a venue to get to know like minded women as they get to know you. It does take more time than a networking session takes but the results are priceless.

There are many examples of our members helping each other and collaborating together. It ranges from finding a job for someone, running ideas by each other, to providing support during a career transition, an illness, to simply just enjoying each other’s company socially.

The development and cultivation of relationships is how our membership has become a full network and support system.

Come join us as we celebrate our successes and survive life’s challenges together.
