“Who Seduced Your Client While You Fell Off the Grid?”
After a wonderful hour of mingling and great conversation, the 40+ attendees had the
opportunity to hear Adrian Miller’s presentation on “how to stay on 'the grid' with all of your prospects and clients”. Adrian is a professional speaker, consultant and author of “The Blatant Truth”. In her presentation, she spoke about the importance of developing a plan of “touch point” management to prioritize clients, and how to create and work the plan. She pointed out that a key aspect of touch point management when contacting your clients is to add value by providing them with information, an invitation or an introduction. Adrian also spoke about the importance of developing your social relationships with your clients through the use of social media and, in particular, Twitter. The crowd really enjoyed her energy and passion.

Annual Holiday Party & Networking Event
We all make New Year’s resolutions, but how many of us get discouraged when we cannot make them happen? At TWFG’s January meeting, member Rosemarie M. Rowley presented the membership with GOALS THE EASY WAY. Rosemarie discussed goal setting, the obstacles to meeting one’s goals and how to overcome those obstacles. Remaining positive in your thoughts and attitude will help you turn your goals into reality!
After the dinner presentation, the group moved to an adjacent room for a round of “speed networking”, which gave the attendees a chance to spend three minutes one-on-one with a variety of different members. The feedback was so positive. Everyone really enjoys the opportunity to meet and mingle with each other.

Business Etiquette
Paula Klee Parish, speaker and author presented a discussion about Business Etiquette.
Paula stressed the importance of appropriately dealing with business situations in today’s
multicultural and technological society. Paula demonstrated how business cards should be distributed, how introductions should be made and gave examples of difficult situations and how they should be resolved. Her command of the subject made the presentation interesting and engaging. Paula’s words resonated well after the conclusion of the presentation.

Golf Lessons August & September
Golf Outing Oct 2, 2009
This year TWFG offered Golf Lessons at Sky Drive in Farmingdale for its members. Victor our golf pro, succeeded in teaching everyone something new.
It was amazing to see how he guided the beginners through the basics enabling them to smack the ball by the end of just one lesson. More experienced golfers were correcting simple flaws in no time at all.
After a rainout on September 11th, the Second Annual No Handicap Golf Outing was held on Oct 2nd at Harbor Links in Port Washington. There was a record turnout. Six foursomes played in a Scramble format. Jean Schachter won Closest to the Pin, and Brenda Sorg’s Team won Best Score. Harbor Links provided a great BBQ, while the participants huddled together to combat the prevailing wind.
Our Golf events were such a success that we will develop a golf program for 2010.
